Who we are
Digital Inertia (“we”, “us”) builds AI-powered client systems for consultants, trainers, and advisory firms. We are based in South Africa and process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can reach us at matt@digin.co.za.
What we collect
Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how visitors use this site: pages viewed, links clicked, approximate region, browser, and device type. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. Until you accept analytics cookies, this data is collected without cookies or any cross-visit identifier; if you decline, we collect nothing at all. If you accept, PostHog also records session replays, which capture your interactions with the page along with browser console output and page performance data. Replays are a reconstruction of the page, not a video, and we use them only to find usability problems.
Contact and bookings. If you email us or book a call through Calendly, we receive the details you provide (name, email, and anything you write). We use them only to respond and to deliver the work you ask for. Calendly processes your booking under its own privacy policy.
Purchases. Products in the Systems Store are paid for through Paystack, our payment processor. Paystack handles your card details directly and we never see or store them. We store a record of the order in our own database: your email address, which product you bought, the amount, the payment reference, and whether the payment succeeded.
Your account. When a purchase succeeds we automatically create an account for you using the email address you paid with, and email you a sign-in link. This is how you get access to your files and how you can download them again later. It means a completed purchase always results in an account, even if you did not separately sign up. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Files and downloads. Purchased files are held in private storage and released to you through short-lived download links that only work while you are signed in.
Email. We send transactional email (such as your sign-in link and purchase confirmation) through Resend. If you subscribe to our newsletter or complete the Bottleneck Audit, your email address is passed to Beehiiv, our email platform, which stores it until you unsubscribe.
The Bottleneck Audit. If you complete the quiz and give us your email, we also record your score, your result level, and the area the quiz identified as your biggest gap, so we can send you relevant follow-up. Your individual answers are not stored.
Hosting. The site runs on Vercel, which keeps short-lived server and security logs that may include IP addresses and request details.
Where your information is processed
We are in South Africa, but the services we rely on are hosted elsewhere, so your information is transferred across borders. PostHog analytics is hosted in the European Union. Our database, accounts, and file storage run on Supabase. Paystack processes payments in South Africa. Resend, Beehiiv, Calendly, and Vercel may process data in the European Union or the United States. Each provides safeguards for international transfers under their own terms, and we only share what each service needs to do its job.
Cookies
This site sets cookies only after you accept them:
- di-cookie-consent(localStorage): remembers your accept/decline choice so we don't ask again.
- ph_phc_…_posthog (cookie + localStorage, set only after acceptance): a random PostHog identifier that lets us recognise a returning browser. Expires after 12 months.
- Sign-in cookies (set only if you have an account): keep you signed in so you can reach your downloads. These are necessary for the account to work and are not covered by the analytics choice.
Third-party services (Paystack checkout, Calendly booking) set their own cookies on their own domains when you use them, governed by their respective policies.
How long we keep data
Session replays are deleted after 30 days. Other analytics events are retained by PostHog for up to seven years. Purchase records and the account tied to them are kept for as long as you have access to your files and to meet our legal and tax obligations, which for tax records in South Africa is five years. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to support you. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under POPIA and the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. Email matt@digin.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local supervisory authority.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
